Today we had our (very high) gutter vacuumed — last done in February. I also drained the first flush diverter — last drained and cleaned last week. This accumulation of muck is from just a few days. We’re also investigating a UV filter system for our water.

It takes 3 weeks after Aotearoa New Zealand’s General Election for all votes to be counted. Results have changed very slightly — 2020 General Election official results:
Of 120 seats total — Labour: 65; National: 33; Greens: 10; ACT: 10; Māori Party: 2.
Glad Māori Party got in.
Steroid shot procured so my itchy eyes, nose, throat and head fog should soon be sorted. The doctor was more friendly than in the past. The reception and billing process needs a radical overhaul though. Slow and utterly inefficient.
It’s been a busy day with weedeating, weeding, cutting down a stray large lupin in a seldom visited corner of the property, dog walking, watering the tunnel house and various other outdoor activities. Whew!

It’s spring, damp and warm, so everything is growing. A lot of weeding and the like means I have to stoop. It’s kind of hard on the back.
This is peak hayfever time for me, and symptoms are starting to crank up. Trying to book for the nurse to give me a steroid shot, as that has helped the last 2 years. Of course, I had to advise that I have Covid-like symptoms of scratchy throat, runny nose etc. 🤷🏽♀️
Deb’s no longer using my old 2012 MacBook Pro, so last night I wiped it, installed Catalina 10.15.7 via Internet Recovery, and am setting it up to handle Arduino electronics kit stuff. Don’t need email or any extras. It’s so exciting to be setting up this ‘new’ computer. 👩🏽💻

In bed and wondering why some silly fool is letting off fireworks nearby. Then I remembered it’s almost Guy Fawkes night and the general public are still allowed to buy fireworks. Unbelievable! Poor old Sasha is terrified, and Oshi’s growling and barking.
I’ve long wanted to own some Apple shares, but $$$$$. Now however, I do, or at least 0.15 of 1 share. Thanks to Sharesies allowing people to buy shares in small amounts, and even partial shares. One day I’ll get all the way to 1 share, I hope.
I spotted this beetle on a railing near the house. It’s bright green with a reddish stripe down its back. After web searching I’ve determined it’s a beetle, but I can’t discover what kind. Very bright green though.

Wow, I was visiting the NZ Parliament website and came across a broken link. I clicked their email address which brought up a usefully pre-filled email asking for relevant URLs. Less than 60 minutes after sending, the link has been fixed and they’ve let me know the new URL.
Xena: Warrior Princess was filmed in NZ, for a US audience. One effect was that the sun rose or set in the ‘wrong’ direction (in the many speeded up rise / set sequences). And it would always astonish me, just a little.
Like the LtoR sun on the Solar Dial Apple Watch face…
