Well, by Page 25 of Take Control Of Your Browser I’ve already learned 2 useful new tips, and I’m no stranger to the Mac and its ways. Take Control books are always worth reading.

The Take Control series are superb books. I’ve relied on them for years and years. This title is very exciting!
Someone’s been reading the wrong book about how to craft front page headlines…
I enjoyed the 2019 Indian film Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga this morning. The title translates as “How I felt when I saw that girl”.
the story of Sweety Chaudhary, a closeted lesbian, and her attempts to come out to her religious and traditional Punjabi family.
I was just thinking yesterday we hadn’t had a decent earthquake in a while. So at 4.30 this morning there was a 4.8, shallow, less than 100 km from here but a good rattle. Annoying: I’d just got back to sleep after a bathroom visit and it woke me for the day.
Oshi and Sasha enjoyed their visit to the beach this morning. I spent a while taking photos of Fishing vessel 63018 Clam Legend working very near the shore. 🐶

Our local paper has the most thrilling headlines. Tomorrow is Anzac Day, hence the emphasis on soldiers.
I’ve been watching Homecoming: a film by Beyoncé. It’s an amazing show. She has more energy in her little finger than I have for a whole year!
Thanks to one of my favourite apps Hazel and its ‘sweep’ function, when I deleted the troublesome app trial, all its tentacles went too.
I hope they don’t really mean this! Zero privacy from spam? Mind you, they’ve already made me restart my Mac for the trial, create a login for an account I don’t want and failed 4 times to send me a login confirmation I require in order to buy. Time to give up!
Oshi, of course, is waiting for his dinner still (ie biscuits in a bowl on the floor).
It wasn’t meant to be a canine Easter egg hunt, but what else can you do when you spill a whole scoop of biscuits on the floor? 🐶
I really enjoyed listening to @macgenie and Brianna Wu discuss Voyager’s Equinox double episode on 3 You Can’t Underestimate Seven.
In fact, I’m enjoying the thoughtful commentary in all the episodes. And who knew homework could be fun too!
Two little Tauhou or Silvereye turned up on the flax this morning.
The silvereye colonised New Zealand from Australia in the 1850s … Length: 12 cm, Weight: 13 grams.
Such cute wee birds! I’m so glad they visit our garden. Planting flax bushes near the front door was smart.

This 14 minute video is very interesting: Why Do We Get Columbine So Wrong? Hard to believe it’s been 20 years since that Columbine school shooting. Apparently almost everything we ‘know’ about the shooters is incorrect.
I’m really enjoying In the Dark on The CW.
An irreverent blind woman … Murphy drifts through life in a drunken haze. …she stumbles upon a corpse that must be [her friend] Tyson’s, but it disappears … She resolves to solve the murder herself
My neighbour and I played Scrabble tonight. She’s very hard to beat, and played “amaze” for a high score. I added an ‘s' as part of “quest” on a double letter for ‘q’ and a double word for 67 points. I won the game. Her long run of only vowels helped…
One job for this month is to tidy and rearrange the garage. Meanwhile, I re-stained the tops of two deck tables and applied stain all over my new raw pine Adirondack chair. I think it’ll need another coat tomorrow. I was advised to use a rag not a brush, so did that.
Today I planted the kowhai tree Sophora Dragon’s Gold beside Aphra’s grave. I dug a hole in the sand, filled it with good compost and water, a fertiliser tab underneath, then mulched with pine shavings. Then I added 4 stakes, plastic netting and wind cloth to protect the tree.
