My Sasha has a dream. 🐶

I’m all caught up on watching For All Mankind on TV+. It was compelling viewing. So glad to know a Season 3 is on the cards.

I always have tinnitus. It’s worse when I’m tired. When I’m stressed I don’t get back to sleep after waking in the night. That makes me tired and gives me a headache. Then the tinnitus gets worse which stresses me more. Today it all reached a crescendo. Luckily a nap helped. 🤯

Glee the Japanese Quail decided to sit on eggs a couple of weeks ago. Her sister Fliss helps occasionally. I thought they’d pretty much stopped laying so left them to it, but now there are a good dozen toasty eggs in the nest. There’s no male, so nothing will come of it… 🐦

It’s a miracle! About 10 hours of sleep and I’m not even sick. Amazing. Normally I’m pretty happy if I can get it up to 8 hours. Hooray for circumstances aligning.

In getting ahead of things: I’ve changed the analogue kitchen clock, toothbrush clock, 2 cameras, oven clock. Yet to change: the car clock.

I’ve been watching, and enjoying, S01 of For All Mankind. So much smoking and drinking! I’m amazed the astronauts were able to pass any of their physicals! Nice twist, with the alternate space race history.

Today’s a day where I wish I had a Klingon Cloaking Device. I want to be invisible to the world — go for a bike ride without anyone noticing me, sit in the sun at home without any messages or emails or neighbourly waves. About to risk that bike ride…

Tomorrow’s the day to put the clocks back in Aotearoa New Zealand:

Daylight saving ends when clocks go back by 1 hour at 3am on 4 April 2021.

Next change: September.

I’m remembering that I stopped watching The Flash somewhere in Season 6. I’ve started Season 7, but it’s utterly underwhelming — pretty boring, pretty silly. It’s a shame… I’d like to settle in and watch some stuff today.

Just before dawn was too dark for a selfie, but I took one anyway. Apart from missing a day last week, I still do a selfie each day for my own album. It’s been years now.

Dim selfie.

LOL: Supergirl Recap Episode 601

as Kara points out, “Only four of us can fly.” Which I think is selling themselves a little short. I think maybe saying, “And there aren’t enough of us,” would have sufficed; four is a pretty high number of people who can fly in any given friend group. Even on a CW sci-fi show.

I loved this 20 minute video — it was such fun. The more I see Janelle Monae perform the more gorgeous I think she is. I love to see her perform.

This poor fellow next door has been in my line of vision for quite a while — maybe since yesterday — without moving. Today I checked on him and he couldn’t get up. I’ve alerted the farmer. I hope the farmer turns up soon.

Steer lying down.

So well deserved: How Siouxsie Wiles became ‘the Covid lady’, then New Zealander of the year:

microbiologist Dr Siouxsie Wiles was named New Zealander of the Year – Te Pou Whakarae o Aotearoa …she has … become synonymous with calm, clear, compassionate communication

One of the two lakes at the end of the road was looking so blue this morning!

Blue lake surrounded by rushes.

Drove a 2-hour round trip (+ time for a couple of quick errands) and took the dogs along. They used to be really good in the car — we’d forget they were there. Now aged 14 those days are gone. Panting started early outbound. By half-way home they were distressed. Sigh. 🐶

I really enjoyed on Netflix the documentary A Grand Night In: The Story of Aardman. I’ve long been a fan of Wallace and Gromit and think Chicken Run is supremely hilarious and rich and enjoyable. In fact I plan to watch Chicken Run again soon.

Oooh! Chicken food; my favourite!

I try to keep this blog positive but need to vent a bit today about logins.

In the good old days you’d use a username and password to log into a website. We’ve all been educated now to use good passwords too and some of us use a password manager, like 1Password, for extra security and convenience.

These days we have foolishness like sites that make you enter a username on one page and then a password on the next. Annoying!

My current gripe is the ones that make you verify yourself via an email, even after providing a username and password.

I’ve given you my username and my password and sometimes even told you how many traffic lights are in a stupid picture: take me to the good stuff now!

I’m really getting pretty fed up with it. On trying to view a video from a creator I support on Patreon, I even considered getting out of Patreon thanks to this ridiculous roadblock. Why should I verify just to watch a video. But getting out would hurt the creator.

And while I’m ranting: I love Micro.Blog but it doesn’t even let me use a password. If I need to log in again on the web I have to wait for an email with a special link that I can’t then use next time, weeks or months later! It’s ridiculous and very annoying.

I suppose all this stuff is to deal with bots or something, but heck! even my bank just needs a username and password. I can’t believe I have to jump through hoops to watch a video on Patreon.

Rare rant over.
