Sasha and I had differing ideas about why we went out just before bedtime. The outing did not include peeing after all. Since it did include sitting, I figured a glamour shoot would be rewarding. 🐶

Absolutely worth a listen — Hannah Gadsby on redefining comedy in A Podcast of One’s Own with Julia Gillard:

Aw heck. S03E10 of My Life Is Murder seems to be the last. It was a darn good show. 📺
follows the adventures of fearless private investigator Alexa Crowe, who solves the most baffling crimes as well as coping with the frustrations of everyday life.

This book’s title made me dubious about whether I should bother but I was hooked from the first paragraph. It was an excellent read: Something Shady at Sunshine Haven (The Accidental Detective Book 1) by Kris Bock. I’ve bought book 2 already. 📚

A pair of Canada Geese on the lake. 🐦

Yay, my new glasses are ready to be collected and it so happens Tuesdays are the day I can make a trip to Wellington. With any luck I’ll have them by the end of the day. 😀
Here’s a new one on me: a blackmail scam that appeared in my RSS reader, courtesy of the email address Feedbin provides that I use for subscribing to newsletters.

The Woman King was impressive and powerful: textured, moving, absorbing, heart-breaking and thought-provoking, and inspired by true events. 🎥
the remarkable story of the Agojie, the all-female unit of warriors who protected the African Kingdom of Dahomey in the 1800s.

Thanks to @cheri who drew my attention to this wonderful rap video a couple of weeks ago: Rock Wren for Bird of the Year. And look who won! Bird of the Year: Pīwauwau/ rock wren crowned as 2022 winner. 🐦

Wrong way, Sasha! 🐶

Yesterday I visited my little buddy Leo, who has a play loft he likes to hang out in. Even though he’s an old boy now he’s nimble on the ladder. 🐈

Halfway I considered skipping ahead to see who the culprit was, but I persevered to the end. Buried Identity by Rosaleen Flanagan just wasn’t my thing. I found it unfocused, with too many characters, locations, dates, times and sub plots. Confusing, and I didn’t care enough. 📚

Oh, this is new: Kindle Rewards Beta. I buy a lot of Kindle books, most for less than $5. This could add up though.

More conscious than ever that Sasha’s time with us is dwindling I’m trying to remember to take more photos. We no longer have ‘walks’ as such, but this from this morning’s outing. 🐶

I must be learning … It’s unusually early in the season for me to realise that no, I’m not getting a cold, but instead have the start of hayfever symptoms. Sigh. Foggy head, slight headache, scratchy throat, feeling kind of blah.
So here I was waiting for my toast to pop when I read the packet on the “Canadian” Brunswick sardines that would go on the top. Turns out these were “Made in Poland”! ‘Made in’? Huh?

Three of the 4 chooks I’m looking after for a few days. They’re a bit grumpy that I haven’t let them out yet I think. 🐓

The sunset became even better. By the time I returned the chooks were all tucked up on their roosts. 🐓

I’m looking after a friend’s chooks, and I’m supposed to shut them up for the night. Unfortunately the two who were in bed got out of bed again when I arrived. Now watching the Sunset for a few minutes. That’s a really nice trade off actually.
