I quite often have good ideas for work someone else can do. 🤣
I've just sent in a Mars Edit feature request for some kind of on-demand Stats report.
I've easily discovered that in this calendar year to date I've posted around 842 times. Getting categories is a bit more fiddly.

You can see how many times you've used a category in your browser admin window.

@markstoneman I know I can see it, but counting how many times is the problem. However, I'm about to post an AppleScript that did the job. 😀

One of us is misunderstanding the other. I meant this view, which tells me how many use a given category.

@pratik Yes, that was something I tried, but couldn't see how to achieve it. Would be useful.

@markstoneman Yes, we are at slight cross-purposes. 😀 I'm talking about getting a report in Mars Edit. You're looking at the Micro.Blog web view. One problem with the view in your screenshot is: how many Autobiographical posts, for example, were published in 2024. In Mars Edit I can readily select all 2024 posts but then counting how many were in the Birds category isn't easy. Or I can see all the posts in Birds, but not easily see which belong to 2024. The AppleScript I've just posted achieves what I'm looking for.
