Second gym session today and we did some stretches and also some work with 5 Kg or 2 Kg dumbbells. That included squats and lifts.
The trainer and I have differing opinions on whether I'll be able to walk tomorrow. 🤣

Probably different definitions of walk. He probably figures if you can get from your bed to your couch without crawling, you're walking.

You'll be fine tomorrow. With squats it's the day after tomorrow that gets you

@philipbrewer Turns out she was right — I can still walk, but I have various parts of my body telling me "Hey, I worked out yesterday!" 😁

Whenever I start workout out after a long break, there's kind of a mental transition. For a few times I'm all, "I worked out yesterday—I'm in agony," and then, even though I feel exactly the same, I'm all "I worked out yesterday—I feel great!" There may be some physical differences as well—muscle soreness does decline when you're working out regularly—but for me the big change is the mental one.

@philipbrewer Interesting change in perception, thanks. On this, the second day after, I'm still feeling a few muscles that obviously never get to actually do much in my daily life: pecs, something in the lower tummy in particular.
