Today we saw an Air Force Heritage Flight of New Zealand flypast: the superlative Supermarine Spitfire and three modern Beechcraft T–6C Texan IIs. I thought they were simply flying along the hills then they turned and flew directly overhead.





The Supermarine Spitfire is not only a beautiful plane, if such can be said about a killing machine, but the name is very awesome too. Let’s hope these planes are the last fighters ever involved in a world war. 🕊

funnily enough my mum was talking about the noise that she remembers from the war and Battle of Britain as a spitfire flew up our valley the other day. It’s a magical sound..


@tomc That makes me realise I was so focused on trying to get some photos I didn't notice any sound! 😳 I recall my Mum once mentioned bomb shelters (she was in London).
