Miraz Jordan @patrickT 👍 Many people get excited and think it's a much more rare Yellowhead (understandable). Still a cute bird and we see a lot of them around here at this time of year.

Miraz Jordan @patrickT That's cool! I'm not a 'birder' but have discovered a fondness for trying to take photos of birds. I'm very lucky that there are so many so close to where I live. We have rural, slightly urban, coast, river and estuary all within a radius of maybe 2 Km. Plus not far away is a RAMSAR site at Foxton Estuary and another good site at Waikanae, in the other direction.
