Way back in February 2017 I noticed small white posts appearing around the place — as in the background of this selfie. The closeup shows more of the post. Turned out they are Geodetic Survey Marker indicator posts. Today I reported one that had come adrift.

@kitt I believe some marks are above ground. For example we can see a Trig point from our lounge window.
