Gallo Pinto (Costa Rican Beans and Rice)
This week’s International Breakfast was Gallo Pinto (Costa Rican Beans and Rice). We didn’t have the Salsa Lizano, so made do with Worcestershire Sauce. This was easy and delicious and I’ll be making it in future for dinner.

Looks absolutely gorgeous! And easy ingredients. I am going to make this for lunch today.

Had this nearly every morning for the two weeks were were there travelling around the country a few years back.
Had a similar riff on it for dinner tonight.
Beans and rice in general are an underrated simple meal.

I love rice and beans! It's a staple for us. We make the beans in a curry style, called Rajma Masala and mix it up with some steamed rice. I also love this one pot recipe that combines the beans and rice, much like the Costa Rican style.

Looks delicious! I searched, and found the recipe, (or a version of it) translated, on a Norwegian vegetarian food site. 🇨🇷🌯
