Palak Paneer Paratha
Our International Breakfast this week is Paratha from India. We made Palak Paneer Paratha. There was too much just for breakfast, so I guess lunch is organised too. 😀 Spinach was fresh from the garden.

Nice! We frequently eat Palak Paratha or Palak Paneer curry. Time to try Palak Paneer Paratha 👍

@jean I’m clearly ruined now, as when I read your comment about mango chutney, for a brief moment I thought of @mangochutney instead. 😂

@mangochutney @martinfeld My grandmother had a mango tree. We ate them all the time, and my parents used to make mango chutney in bulk, a grownup condiment. I initially followed @mangochutney for nostalgia reasons.

@jean mangoes are so delicious. My father will get them sometimes, and when I have breakfast with my parents, there’s always a bowl of them in the center of the table. My father and I love them, but my mother won’t touch them for some reason. I don’t know why, they’re way too delicious to pass up.

@cambridgeport90 Once I left Miami, I hardly ever ate them because it seemed crazy to pay money for them. We’d get dozens for free.
In the last decade or so, I’ve developed a mild allergy to many raw fruits and vegetables. Haven’t had a mango outside of Trader Joe’s chutney in a long while. 🥭😭

@jean That is a beautiful childhood memory and it’s cool that you had so much chutney! My memories of summer holidays as a kid were going to the local Port Kembla Beach and coming home to gorge on the very same fruit. Delicious
Also yes, @mangochutney your work is done! It has been wedged firmly into my brain.

@jean I'm honoured. Which reminds me that I need to make a dish with mango chutney again soon. Haven't had this delicious stuff in a while.

@jean you can develop allergies to anything, but that seems particularly odd. I’ve never heard of that.

@cambridgeport90 I never mentioned it to people because it’s mild. But once, one of the guests for a dinner I was organizing told me she had the same reaction when I asked her about dietary requirements. I knew it wasn’t all in my head, so it was nice to know it wasn’t only me.
Your comment prompted me to do a search. Apparently there’s a thing called Oral Allergy Syndrome, and it’s not a food allergy, but is related to pollen allergies.
