About 10 days ago I had our weedeater repaired and serviced. The cost was eye-watering, but I was busy, stressed or unwell or something and didn’t challenge it. Today I was about to throw out the receipt when I saw it included an expensive item I didn’t buy. Off to get a refund…

@odd Some people call them line trimmers if that helps. Motorized stick with a whirling head that uses nylon line to cut grass etc.

Oh, yeah! We call them “kantklippere”. (Edge cutters). Weedeater made me think of @macgenie ’s little furries. 😊

Whew! Lucky catch 😀
(They are also often called weed-whackers here. // @odd )

@crossingthethreshold Ha! Perhaps so. (And then there are all the things with regional variant names, too!)

@odd When I lived in Ghana, I learned of a creature called the grasscutter, a much larger rodent cousin of the guinea pig and a favorite food there. One of the local delicacies is a stew called "green-green," and gets its color from the contents of grasscutter entrails. I could never bring myself to try it. I even had a nightmare that I had accidentally brought my piggie Rosie with me and was afraid someone would eat her. 😅

@macgenie Oh my goodness! I imagine I'd eat the animal, but not the contents of its entrails!
