The last few days we’ve had cloud, rain, and even the occasional thunderclap, and a rainbow. 🌈 Today’s blue sky reveals why the wind is so chill: snow on the top peaks of the Tararuas.

At last. We had actual rain for a few days — almost 68 mm all up. That’s nearly 4,500 litres in the household water tank. 💧
So good to read this from our Police Commissioner about community checkpoints:
our approach has been driven by a desire to maintain the trust and confidence of all, something which is so important when we police with the consent of our communities.
A sane approach to policing.
Usually Ravel’s Bolero drives me to be elsewhere, but this video is not only astonishingly creative but also utterly enjoyable: Juilliard Students Go All Out for Online Performance. A favourite bit: the garage door.
[students and alumni] each performing from their own home.
Thank you @brentsimmons for Undo Mark Older as Unread in NetNewsWire! My finger slipped. Phew!
Our tunnelhouse is still producing capsicums and aubergine. Small, but still perfectly good. These will go in tonight’s dinner.
Delenn of the Minbari: Withdraw or be destroyed!
Earth Force: Negative! Do not force us to engage.
Delenn: Why not? Only one human captain has ever survived battle with a Minbari Fleet. He is behind me. You are in front of me. If you value your lives, be somewhere else!
I’d like to thank @macgenie for allowing me to chat with her on Voyager Revisited episode 14 B’Elanna Torres: 50% Klingon, 100% Engineer. 🖖🏼
the Dreadnought missile is such a perfect foil for B’Elanna strengths and foibles

I haven’t read these books yet, but am downloading a few: 13 Legally Free Digital Queer Books for Your Quarantine Needs. 📚 Maybe there’s something that’ll interest you?
Aussies tend to make great telly (and movies) and My Life Is Murder, starring my favourite, Lucy Lawless, is no exception:
crime comedy-drama … fearless private investigator Alexa Crowe solves the most baffling crimes as well as coping with the frustrations of everyday life.
Thanks to the many folks who said they were looking into or already using Kiva to help business people with small loans, eg $25. I see I’ve been using it since May 2006. 😀
Aotearoa New Zealand is in a lucky position to trace the virus spread around the country:
NZ’s first Covid-19 case … on 28 February - a person in their 60s who had arrived from Iran. … at least 35 unique introductions … from all over the world … Europe, Iran, North America …
For years now I’ve been lending money to individual business women in need via Kiva, usually $25 at a time. So far I’ve lent to women in 29 different countries, including places like Burkina Faso and Timor-Leste. Feels good.
We’ve had a bit more than 100 mm rain in the first 4 months of the year. The forecast for the next 3 days is for another 100 mm. Wouldn’t that be nice. I bet we get only half that though, which will still be great. 💧100 mm would add about 6500 litres to the drinking water tank.
I really enjoyed Frozen II. 🍿Great plot, music and animations. A favourite: the singing reindeer. Also 👍:
Throughout the production of the film, filmmakers collaborated with Sámi experts on the depiction of the fictional Northuldra tribe.
Excellent messages for kids too.
Hmmm, at 13.5 it seems Oshi and Sasha are now officially in old age. 🐶 The vet confirmed Oshi has arthritis, so now he’s on pain pills. With any luck he’ll soon move more easily and have a bit more vim. Also their weights have crept up… 😒 Makes sense if he’s moving less.

Finally finished Take Control of Apple Watch. I recommend it, even if you think you know all about your watch. For example, I just turned on Fall Detection, which was supposed to be on automatically.
