Eeeugh to Aaahhh
We have a freestanding oven and cooktop and it's mandatory to have a small gap either side. That gap is exactly the right size for splashes of sauce, random escaped cooking ingredients and crumbs to enter and way too small to get into to retrieve them.
Today I undertook to haul the oven out of its cavity and clean up.
Eeeugh!
Much dedicated scrubbing later and Aaahhh.
Now the struggle to put the oven back in place.
Jessica Smith @Miraz Ughhhh yeah, we have a freestanding cooktop and I hate it for that exact reason. I'm not even strong enough to get it out! So the much just builds up 🫣 Great job getting the space around your own one clean!
Miraz Jordan @jayeless Definitely not an easy thing to move. I was able to extract it on my own but it needed both Deb and me to put it back. Our new house has the oven enclosed in a tower thing. The cooktop will be in the middle of the bench but is presumably slightly raised.
Hugh Young-Bish @Miraz My solution to that is a piece of (corrugated) cardboard running the depth of the oven, folded in a V-shape to catch the crumbs etc.
