Hmmm, the power went off just before 6 pm and may come back on in a couple of hours, if we're lucky. Fortunately I'd already eaten dinner.
The new Portable Power Station is getting its first workout: charging a phone, watch and laptop. I hadn't expected it to be noisy — there's a fan running (or something).

We are having the same problem here. The power has been out for 1½ hours now. Who knows when it’ll be back on 🤷🏼♂️

@crossingthethreshold Strange coincidence … We're more connected than we realised. 😆 Ours is back. Hope yours doesn't take too long. The Pacific Electricity Appreciation Society. ⚡️

The Pacific Electricity Appreciation Society 🤣 We'll have to notify @jean of this newly created Society. Our electricity came back on around 11:00pm, waking us up as all the lights that were on when the power went out....came on! 🙄

@crossingthethreshold That was late! We noticed the quiet — no fridge hum or anything.

There was definitely that. I slept well last night, apart from the rude awakening at 11:00pm.

Hm, good to know! Hope it is short lasting. (The power cut, not the power station!)

were you using the AC output on the power station? The inverter often has a fan for cooling. Only using the USB or 12v outputs would probably eliminate the need to run the fan.

@Vittorino Yes I did. I hadn't thought to give the thing a trial run and ended up using it during a power cut, in the dark, with no idea what I was doing. It worked though. 😀

@crossingthethreshold I too appreciate electricity. I hope I don’t have anything to contribute to this discussion, at least not before the winter storm season.
