Looks like I’ll be getting my Covid vaccine sometime around mid-year: When, how and where do you get your Covid-19 vaccine? NZ roll-out details announced.
The Pfizer vaccine is the only one to have the green light from the New Zealand regulator Medsafe so far.

Why has NZ lagged in vaccine delivery? At least the situation is not dire thankfully

@pratik I'm not particularly well informed but I'd say factors like no community transmission make it slightly less urgent; we're a small country with much less bargaining power for obtaining vaccines in the first place; there are those issues around transport and storage and distribution of vaccines that need special handling. Probably the fact that we're very small fry in the world would be the main thing.

Yeah but I wouldn’t worry about it. If you get going at the rate at which US is now vaccinating, NZ would be done in 2.5 days 😊

@pratik I'm not at all worried. In fact I believe there are plenty of people whose risk of contracting the virus is much greater than mine. I live in a rural area, keep very much to myself etc. I'd be happy for others to be vaccinated ahead of me. Our rollout nationally will take months though. Our population is spread out, apart from anything else.
