I was particularly touched yesterday to receive a very unexpected Amazon gift card from a generous person. I see several new books in the future of my new Kindle. 📚🤓

@poetalegre Back in the old days before Kindle I'd buy a paper book on Amazon and unless I paid exorbitant amounts for shipping it would then take 6 weeks or more to make its way to Aotearoa New Zealand. By then I'd forgotten all about it. Getting a book instantly is a dream (and I prefer reading on screen anyway).

I bought the nook e-reader when it first came out because of my once a year travel; it lightened my suitcase thus I was hooked. Now I just use the iPad.

Even I love my Kindle - I prefer ebooks any day. For me, the benefits of ebooks far exceed than the nostalgia that paperback smell induces! 🙂

@poetalegre Years ago I thought the iPad would work for me, but one day, sitting out in the sun, with the screen angled so I could actually read it, the iPad shut down because it was too hot. The Kindle is easier to see and has never overheated like that. Plus it's lighter. So, it works better in my circumstance. 😎
